Upholstery Repair

Upholstery repair addresses a damaged area while keeping the existing upholstery in place wherever practical. Opened seams, loose panels, pulled stitching, loose tufting or localized fabric and vinyl damage may be repair candidates.

Upholstery Repair

Upholstery problems we can assess

Opened or split seams

We inspect the seam, surrounding material and stress on the area to determine whether it can be re-sewn or reinforced.

Loose or detached panels

A panel that has come loose may be reattached or secured when its material and condition allow. Damaged panels can sometimes be repaired or replaced locally.

Pulled stitching or tufting

We can assess loose stitching and button tufting repairs, and discuss seam repairs, sewing and embroidery based on your project.

Localized fabric or vinyl damage

Small damaged areas may be repairable depending on the material, location, wear and availability of a suitable matching material.

Loose upholstery attachments

We inspect loose upholstery around edges, arms, backs or other sections and determine whether it can be secured without recovering the entire piece.

Cushion and padding concerns

If the cover is intact but the seating has flattened, new padding or replacement foam may be an option. See custom seating and foam.

Repair is different from complete recovering

Upholstery repair focuses on specific damaged or loose areas of the existing covering. Complete recovering means removing the existing upholstery and putting new material on the furniture frame. That is a separate service.

If you want new material on the whole piece, visit Custom Upholstery & Recovering. We will review the furniture, your goals and the material needed to discuss the appropriate service.

Send photos to get started

Please send a photo of the full furniture piece, close-up photos of the damaged area, your ZIP code and any brand or model information. We can review the request and confirm service availability in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Some damage requires an in-person inspection before repair options can be confirmed.
